Cancun

Phillis and I just got back from a fabulous trip to the Yucatan Peninsula. After hitting Cancun, we rented a car and traveled south. While driving, we got hungry and ended up on an adventure. Although Phillis was skeptical, I pulled off on a dirt road displaying the international fork and spoon sign. It took us about two miles into the jungle - with no signs of civilization. We emerged onto a beautiful beach with palm trees growing out of the white sand and a beautiful little resort nestled near the edge of the jungle. The restaurant was right on the beach. There were no windows, only large flaps of palm fronds tied up to let the ocean breezes blow right through the eating area. The restaurant served a great margarita and excellent food. We ended up staying at this fork and spoon hidden in the jungle for three days! It was heaven. You could rent windsurfers, go diving, etc.

Halloween Nights

    by Thomas Webster

One night in my room I heard a strange noise. The noise was coming from the graveyard across from our house. It sounded like this `'ooooooohhhhhhhh aaaaaah!'' It was a frighful noise to hear. My first reaction was fright and panic.

Then I called my mom and said `'Mom I hear a strange noise!'' Then she said `'It's your imagination go back to sleep.'' Then I went down to the kitchen and got a big thing of jello and ran up to my room and smeared it all over the room so if anything came in to my room it would slip and fall and I would hear it and I would have time to get away. I waited a very long time. Then I got bored and I went up to the roof and looked at the graveyard. I saw something that looked like a skelton but I wasn't sure. It looked like it was coming out of one of the graves. As soon as it got out of the grave it started right towards my house! I ran right back to my room and I forgot about the jello and slipped right into my bed. Then the monster walked right into my room and slipped and the monster turned out to be Dad in his Halloween costume.
